SBA 2010 CAPTAIN'S HANDBOOK:
Rules and guidelines for the 2010 season in all divisions.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JULY 3, 2010
We have run into a couple of problems this season with rules about forfeits. Here are the rules on that:
Each team has 15 minutes past the scheduled gametime to be there before forfeiting.
Each team must have 4 players present and on the roster at all times.
Anyone with out a jersey is not considered to be on the roster.
If someone without a jersey or not on the roster is playing in the game at anytime, it is a forfeit.
In the event that there is a forfeit, and the winning team (or present team) still wants to play:
-You can play a pickup game on the court during your scheduled amount of time.
- A scorekeeper will be provided, and it is up to the ref whether or not he will officiate that game.
-Anyone is allowed to play in the pickup game.
-Regardless of the actual score, the team who was on the winning end of the forfeit will get the victory.
Please
be advised that if no one on either team shows up to a game, both teams
will receive a loss. Also, each team can only forfeit two games the
whole season (beginning now) before losing their rights to go to the
state tournament. On the third forfeit, a team is disqualified from
going, regardless of their record or the outcome of their local
playoffs.
